    What is PRP?
Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP) is a promising and effective solution to accelerate healing “naturally” using the patient’s own blood.  PRP treatments usually take just 30 minutes and are performed on-site at “Doctors at Australia Fair”.

PRP treatment involves taking a sample of the patient’s blood, spinning the sample in a centrifuge and then injecting the Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) produced this process back into the affected site.

    • PRP treatments aid the healing of tendons, cartilage, muscle, bones, scars and chronic wounds.
    • PRP treatments accelerate and shorten the recovery process in chronic injuries, and new acute injuries.

Platelets are best known for their important role in clotting blood however they also contain hundreds of proteins called “growth factors” which are vital in the healing of injuries. Spinning the blood concentrates the platelets which can then be collected in a small volume of plasma and injected directly back into the treated site.

Patients can expect to see significant improvement in symptoms such as pain and swelling; elimination of the need for more traditional treatments such as medications, cortisone injections or surgery; a dramatic return to function.
