GP SERVICES & FEES

The GPs working from Doctors at Australia Fair are all highly trained registered medical specialists, who are committed to providing the highest level of care and service possible. Unfortunately, successive Commonwealth governments have failed to fund the Medicare Benefits Schedule to the level required in order for the Medicare Rebates to cover the true cost of providing high quality GP care.

As such, there are some out of pocket fees for services provided by the GPs working within our practice.

The GPs within our practice may all charge slightly different fees depending on the complexity of the consultation or service, the time required, additional medical expertise required, varied levels of training and qualifications , amongst other criteria.

Discounted Fees

The GPs working with us, are committed to ensuring vulnerable groups are able to continue to access quality GP services.  As such, the following patients will be offered a discounted out of pocket fee, by some GPs, on  general consultations:

 

• Children aged 15 years and under

• People with a pension card

• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients whom are eligible for a ATSI health check and CTG registration

• All DVA card holders

Please note, the following services will generally be bulk-billed for all eligible patients, although your GP may need to charge a fee depending on the complexity:

• GP Management Plans (and reviews)

• Team Care Arrangements (and reviews)

• Medicare funded health assessments

• Mental Health Treatment Plans and reviews

​Cancellations

If you are unable to make it to your appointment, please provide at least 4 hours’ notice so we can offer your appointment to another patient.  Where patients do not provide 4 hours’ cancellation notice, they may be charged a cancellation fee of $50.00 which is not claimable on Medicare. If you need to cancel your appointment outside of normal business hours and have made you appointment online, please cancel your appointment through Hotdoc.

Our updated Fees Policy is effective from 24th April 2023 for all patients transitioning from Australia Fair Medical Centre, however, the existing Fees Policy for Doctors at Australia Fair will apply until Monday 8th May 2023 for existing patients from Doctors at Australia Fair.
