Skin Checks

Our GPs do Skin Checks here at the practice at Australia Fair in Southport on the Gold Coast. The doctor looks over your skin and tells you if any spot needs a closer look or treatment.

If you notice a new spot, or one that has changed in size, shape or colour, make an appointment to have it looked at.

Skin Checks are booked by phone. Our reception team will find you a time.

About skin cancer (Cancer Council NSW)

Book a Yearly Skin Check

A regular Skin Check is a simple way to keep an eye on your skin. How often you need one depends on your own risk, including your skin type, how much sun you get and whether skin cancer runs in your family. Ask your GP whether a yearly check suits you.

Protect Your Skin

These are the Cancer Council’s five steps:

  • Slip on clothes with sleeves and a collar
  • Slop on SPF 30+ broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen, 20 minutes before you go outside
  • Slap on a broad-brimmed hat
  • Seek shade
  • Slide on sunglasses that meet the Australian standard
